just a quick one tonight because "tis the season to be jolly", apparently. i don't know about you but i tend to be a bit "bah humbug" and then it hits me, and i enjoy it. don't know why, just been that way for a long time. i suppose i'm just a grumpy bastard at heart.
so what's been happening ? had my works do which was a great laugh, loads of booze ! i had to organise it too, so the fact it went well was a relief. got all the presents for christmas, got a decent tree (for once), the lights all worked and i'm off oop north to see my folks and mrs smackhead's folks too. so what should i leave you with until i'm back ?
i've been digging at the back of the shelves and found something i used to listen to in the summer of 1997 (even though it's from '95). that summer saw me working in cardiff for four months. i wasn't driving at the time and would get the train there (monday a.m.) and back (saturday p.m.). it was almost four hours each way, so i'd listen to tapes on my walkman. you have to remember kids there were no ipods then, so i would take a pile of tapes with me. favourites were a danny tenaglia essential mix (i'll put that up next year) and a techno album from two years previously.
the guy who did it was the man behind the project, space opera, sonic solution and the rave signal series (all on r & s), and did the awesome camargue (from the 4th sign lp). he's from belgium via yorkshire and this track is from his album electronic highway
